RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research interests examine the use of lifestyle modification for the reduction of obesity-related risk factors, such as body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, and biochemical risk factors (i.e. total cholesterol, HDL: LDL cholesterol ratios, fasted plasma blood glucose and protein inflammatory markers) which are commonly associated with cardiovascular disease and diabetes. While the focus of my research is on physical activity interventions, the effects of physical activity, in varying doses cannot stand alone in its association with obesity-related disorders. For this reason, the line of research that I currently pursue uses multivariate analysis in an effort to describe the interaction of psychological, physiological and social interactions with obesity and the modification of related risk factors.
